How does Conduit work?
Conduit sits between your SMTP infrastructure and your application. Senders deliver email the normal way. Conduit parses each message, signs it, and forwards it as an HTTP POST. You need no polling, no mail libraries, and no extra connection management.
What happens if email delivery fails?
If Conduit cannot deliver an email, it returns a 450 Temporary Failure status to the sender, and the sender retries on its own schedule. There are no internal queues, and no lost messages.
How does Conduit ensure security of payloads?
Conduit signs every delivery with HMAC-SHA256, in the X-Conduit-Signature header. You can verify it in your app. The signature proves that the request came from Conduit, and that nobody changed it.
Does Conduit store email content?
No, Conduit never stores email content. It exists in memory only, for the duration of the delivery call.
